d'oh stoy effski

I'm reading the 'latest effort' from 'Скверный анекдот' hitmaker Fyodor Dostoyevsky. It's called 'Notes from Underground' NOT 'Notes from THE Underground'. It is NOT CALLED THAT.

Anyway.

Notes from The Underground is about a man. In my head I have cast him as a young hollywood heartthrob. He generally appears to be suffering from a severe bout of not-doing-too-great-ery.

I particularly like his four page rant at a prostitute about the direction of her life. Methinks he is 'projecting' a little.

I would quite like to see Ryan Gosling play him in the movie adaption. Can't you just picture Gosling's sweetly lit face telling some young prepubescent i-D cover model that shes a whore who's going to die of consumption?
